Product Description
The ISP40 Sump Pump System includes a submersible sump pump and a Power Supply/Battery Charger(PS/BC). Backup power is supplied by two 12-volt batteries (not included). The system is designed for home sump applications. When an electrical power outage occurs, the PS/BC automatically switches the sump pump to battery power so it will continue to pump water. Using LEDs, the PS/BS also alerts you to potential problems. 2-year limited warranty. U.S.A. Flow (GPH): 3,500, Volts: 12, Max. Total Head (ft.): 20, On-Level (in.): 12, Off-Level (in.): 6, Min. 5 out of 5 stars Excellent Sump Pump   July 10, 2008
Anyone who has a basement and lives in a region of the country that either has the power shut down (especially during storms) and/or lives in high water table area, should seriously consider this pump.

I read the reviews above, before buying and they are right on the money about this product. For now, I use surplus Hawker 40Ah VRLA batteries.

The installation for diy's is easy, but use caution with handling/connecting the batteries. The instruction sheet in the box is in small print and hard to read, so I downloaded the instructions from the Wayne site.

5 out of 5 stars Dependable System!   July 5, 2008
The Wayne AC/DC Sump Pump System ISP40 is worth every penny! Well designed and easy to install, this submersible pump, with a self-contained float switch, should fit comfortably into almost any sump chamber. It's pumping power on the battery mode is very strong and seems to match that of the AC operation. The switch-over from AC to DC is instantaneous. The LED lit control/charger box gives you easily understood information, pump fuse and charger circuit breaker access, and hookup is a breeze. To take full advantage of the pump's capabilities, the oversized battery box will hold two of the largest "deep cycle" marine batteries that are commonly available. This is a primary and backup sump pump system that I can definitely depend on, which is the whole point!

5 out of 5 stars The perfert equipment to keep you without an indoor pool   December 26, 2007

The unit works great. It is quit and efficient. It performs just as advertised which is saying a lot. The installation of the pump was straight forward much like any other sump pump. Set up for backup power was well documented and easy to follow. Purchased two marine batteries with 880 cold cranking amps for operation and the system has been working great ever since. When power goes out, there are no worries as the regulator switches the unit from house power to battery power automatically. The best thing about this unit is only one pump installation. The pump has no free moving parts so operational failure is less of likelihood. And, when batteries need replacing they will let you know by way of indicator. Nice system.

5 out of 5 stars Basement pump   June 27, 2007

Appears to work very efficiently and is far neater and more compact than my previous sump pump. Easy to us, requires no manual handling as a far more expenisive generator would require yet completes its function efficiently of protecting the basement from flooding during any power outage. Batteries are strong enough to withstand the outage for over 24 hours and then can be recharged to continue the protection coverage again, There are obviuous light signals, easy to understand on the battery box checking the pump's functions at all times especially when an outage occurs. and during an outage it can easily be monitored to prevent any flooding problems. NO manual handling or controlling required, signals and functioning are automatic and can be determined by all ages of 10 and up. without requiring any physical handling. Conpletely automatic except when the batteries need to be recharged. a
Delivery and processing of sale was very good.
